As part of “Cradles of Hope” program the Victor Pinchuk Foundation conducted training courses in Zhytomyr for specialists of medical institutions

During July 2011, under the "Cradles of Hope" program, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation held week-long training courses at the "Cradles of Hope" centre of Zhytomyr regional centre of mother and child health care to train 12 professionals from Kirovohrad regional hospital. Training courses were held with financial support of the Foundation. The courses’ mission was to prepare specialists before opening of the "New Life" perinatal centre in the Kirovohrad region, where the Victor Pinchuk Foundation also opens "Cradles of Hope" intensive care unit for newborns.
The training program involved dealing with a wide range of issues, including organization of a modern perinatal centre, the interaction of all its departments, duties of employees, medical aspects of childbirth, intensive care and subsequent nursing of premature newborns. Each group of trainees consisted of an obstetrician-gynaecologist, obstetrician, neonatologist and intensive care unit nurse.
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation provides systematic training for medical staff of the "Cradles of Hope" partner clinics. The project training activities were conducted in 13 institutions and attended by 376 health workers from all regions of Ukraine.
In early June 2011 the Victor Pinchuk Foundation became a partner in the national project "New Life" which involves opening of perinatal centres in all regions of Ukraine. Through this partnership, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation will equip neonatal intensive care departments in all 27 perinatal centres opened under the project. For these purposes, the Foundation will allocate UAH 100 million.
