President Viktor Yanukovych took part in an opening ceremony of the Rivne Regional Oncologic Dispensary’s Radiation Therapy Center. Speaking at the event, President Yanukovych thanked all those, who contributed to the construction of the Centre – the local authorities, doctors, builders, investors, particularly the Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine.
President Yanukovych noted that center’s unique modern equipment allows patient treatment at the highest level. He also reminded that the Rivne region, being one of the regions damaged by the Chernobyl disaster and having almost 18,000 cancer patients living there, has long been in need of such a center.
Viktor Yanukovych cut the symbolic ribbon and presented medical equipment certificates to the hospital. He also toured the newly opened center and talked to its staff.
